It is our pleasure to welcome you to Adelaide for the 2020 PVOGS National Women’s Health Conference, held at the University of Adelaide Health and Medical Sciences Building, over the 2nd and 3rd of May 2020.

This year’s conference focuses on a central theme of exploring ‘Frontlines and Frontiers’. Our academic program has been carefully chosen to include speakers on the front line of innovation and advocacy. We hope you will be inspired and challenged no matter which frontier you find yourself in women's health. Our workshop series, held in the most technologically advanced simulation facility in Australasia, has been tailored for a range of experience levels and will be sure to challenge you at every turn.

Welcome to Adelaide!

Originally called Tarntanya (red kangaroo place) by the Kaurna people, the original custodians of the land. Surrounded by amazing beaches on one side and the Adelaide Hills on the other, this big country town has so many great things to offer.

Running right through the city centre is the River Torrens, a beautiful setting surrounded by parklands and the botanic gardens. Also set in the city is the Adelaide Central Market, a hub of energy with all of the best local produce and eateries that one could need. At night Peel Street and Leigh Street see cocktail bars and award-winning restaurants open up right in the heart of the city.

Adelaide boasts some of the best beaches in the country with hundreds of kilometres of white sand, many just a tram ride from the CBD. Equally beautiful are the wine regions so hire a car and head for the famous Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale, or if you have a bit more time journey to the lush wildlife haven of Kangaroo Island.

Other attractions that are worth a visit while in Adelaide include the famous Adelaide Oval, the home of Sir Donald Bradman the greatest batsman in the history of cricket.  Down the road is the North Terrace precinct, home to the SA Museum and Art Gallery of South Australia. We’re getting very excited to host you all in Adelaide and show off all of the incredible things it has to offer, be sure to stay a few extra nights if you can and you won’t regret it!
